On DVD and Blu-ray Today: Wrath of the Titans

Available now on DVD, Blu-ray, and Combo Pack (as well as OnDemand, iTunes, and digital downloads) is Rosamund Pike's recently released film, Wrath of the Titans, which she co-starred with Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Edgar Ramirez, Toby Kebbell, and Bill Nighy.

The film opened in theaters March 30th (about 87 days and 12.4 weeks) and was a bit disappointing on its opening weekend as far as domestic box-office gross is concern, as it opened at $33.6 million (at #2 behind The Hunger Games), and still did not reached nor surpassed its $150 million budget, which isn't good box-office-wise, but not worse compared to Disney's John Carter. According to Box Office Mojo, as of June 24th, while it only grossed at $83.6 million in domestic, it did much better overseas with $218.3 million and made a worldwide total of $301.9 million.

Synopsis
Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson star once again as gods at war in “Wrath of the Titans”, under the direction of Johnathan Liebesman.

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kaken, Perseus (Worthington) the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson) is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramrez), switch loyalties and make a deal, with kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth.

Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen gob Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.
