In US Theaters 7 Years Ago Today: Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen

Seven Years ago today (November 11th), the 6-time BAFTA (including a WIN for director Joe Wright, which he won the Carl Foreman Award for the Most Promising Newcomer and a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Brenda Blethyn), 2-time Golden Globes (including Best Actress nomination for Keira Knightley), and 4-time Oscar nominated film (including Best Actress in a Leading Role nomination for Keira Knightley). Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen made its US theatrical debut in select cities (NY and LA). Two months before, it made its UK Cinema debut and debuted at #1 on its first opening weekend, and according to Box Office Mojo, P&P movie opened strong with £2,529,947 (on 397 screens). Its production budget was reportedly $28 million (estimated). Two months later it opened in the U.S. theaters, November 11th, with a limited release and made $2,865,017 (USA) on its opening weekend (#10 rank, 215 theaters, $13, 325 average). Then, it expanded to a nationwide US theatrical release later on at the same month (November 23rd) with an impressive $7,158,119 (#7, rank, 1, 299 theaters, $5,510 average).
