Specialty Box Office: ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, ‘Anna Karenina’ Shine In Debuts
Anna Karenina had a $19,712 PTA, also a very solid start for the Joe Wright-directed feature that has accumulated nearly $10.6 million in foreign B.O. to date.

Anna Karenina will add 11 markets over Thanksgiving and expand further November 30th. “Anna played well to the art house audience this weekend,” a Focus rep said today. “The film’s box office increased 48% from Friday to Saturday with notable box office jumps even beyond that in key markets (including San Francisco and Boston). NY, LA and DC houses were also very strong BO performers. Anna is attracting the core art house adult patrons, so Sunday should deliver the weekend’s second largest day of B.O.”
