Ripper Street - Series 2: Matthew Macfadyen Interview (via BBC Media Centre)
[Spoilers within]:
Where do we pick up with Reid in season two?
When we pick up with Reid he’s no longer with his wife, who has left home, and the audience
discovers why during the first episode. They had a very traumatic end to the first series and he’d given her false hope that he’d found their missing daughter. It turned out it wasn’t her and so that was pretty hard for them both and their marriage dissolved. Anyway, he’s on his own and his house is a
mess. He sleeps at the office in Leman Street most nights and he’s in quite a lonely and dark place but as always he throws himself into his work and that’s his constant salvation.

The Black Box starring Kelly Reilly to film in New York starting Monday! (via Baz Bamigboye of UK's MailOnline):
Watch out for... Kelly Reilly, who starts filming 13 episodes of new drama The Black Box in New York on Monday, for the U.S. ABC network. Reilly, who was in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes films and was very, very fine in the movie Flight, plays a neuroscientist trying to confront psychological problems. It’s based on cracking scripts by Amy Holden Jones, and the first two episodes will be directed by Simon Curtis. The network wants The Black Box to match the brilliant, edgy dramas on cable TV such as Breaking Bad, Homeland and The Walking Dead. Vanessa Redgrave will also star as Reilly’s therapist, David Ajala will play her boyfriend and Laura Fraser her sister-in-law.

But it’s middle child Mickey and his granddad’s shared passion for Vikings which gives rise to the most far-reaching and unexpected consequences. When a day at the beach turns to tragedy, the children take matters into their own hands.

Brenda Blethyn's Vera series gets a 4th Season on ITV (via UK's The Guardian)
Cleeves has had huge success with her Vera Stanhope and Shetland novels. ITV recently finished screening the third series of Vera, with Brenda Blethyn in the title role, and has commissioned a fourth, now being filmed in the north-east and due to be broadcast next year. "I'm aware families sit around the telly to watch Vera, which is making entertainment out of murder," said Cleeves. "But I don't enjoy reading about people's pain. I tend to put myself in that position and it's not somewhere I want to be.
